In this session, Hadrien Gardeur and Jiminy Panoz explored Readium's development roadmap for Mobile and Web, with a focus on exciting personalization features and enhancements, including the brand new Command Line Interface (CLI) for metadata extraction.

Building on Readium · Driving Innovation with Open Source

This session delved into the transformative power of open-source technology in digital publishing. Through three case studies, it showcased how organizations around the world leverage Readium toolkits to build innovative apps and services that enhance their users' reading experience and expand market reach.

Samawy's Readium Journey, presented by Muhammed Salah

First, Digital Product and Operations Manager Muhammed Salah presented Samawy as a compelling case study of Readium implementation in the Middle East, showcasing how the platform is revolutionizing the Arabic ebook industry.

Beyond the Page: Glassboxx & LCP, presented by Erik Pattenden

Then, CTO Erik Pattenden highlighted Glassboxx’s success in delivering over 20 white-label apps built on Readium, demonstrating the efficiency and scalability of open-source solutions for publishers.

Readium at Bookshop.org, presented by Leonard Richardson

Finally, Software Developer and Writer Leonard Richardson provided an overview of Bookshop.org’s strategic use of open technologies, including Readium and LCP, sharing valuable insights on the challenges and opportunities the organization faces in today’s digital bookselling landscape.

Web Publications as Production Format, presented by Vincent Gros and Julieta Murata

This last session offered great insights into the practical implementation and implications of Web Publications within a large-scale publishing environment, as Vincent Gros and Julieta Murata from Hachette shared their ongoing work regarding the utilization of Web Publications as a pivot format for production.
